I have been married to my husband George since 1973 and we have always been committed to being the best parents we could be. When disability came to our family life, we had the same attitude of doing our best, even although the landscape seemed different.
Our son Andrew had a learning disability and complex epilepsy. However, in spite of all the many challenges this presented along the way, Andrew was always included in all family activities and given the best start in life just like his big sister Julie.
They are both now adults and living in their own homes and we all continue to meet up regularly cherishing the gift of family life. Extended family has also played a significant role in helping and supporting through the years – we are thankful to all of them and our faithful friends.
